The Heist

In December, we teamed up with L4 Enterprises in Dursley, to help set up their new project ‘The Engine’: a new community hub on Dursley High Street aiming ‘To inspire local entrepreneurs to develop new social businesses that connect, empower and generate a thriving social enterprise community.’

When we were first contacted by project coordinator Charlie, her vision reminded us of where we started with Create on the Square, as a pop up escape room aiming to bring more people to the area. We were instantly excited to get on board.

The project took approximately 2 months from our initial meeting to the opening day, and it was so great to see Charlie’s vision come to life and to be a part of the process. Product Director Megan worked closely to help set up and train Charlie on everything she needed to know. “It was so exciting to be able to work on a project like this. Building rooms is my favourite part of the job, and it was so nice to see someone being able to reuse one of my older designs that we no longer had use for. Reuse and recycle is part of our company ethos and that extends to all parts of the business!”

‘The Heist’ is a classically themed escape room game: break into the bank to steal the country’s most valuable diamond before you’re caught by the guards. The game combines maths, logic and deciphering skills with teamwork and problem solving, and is aimed primarily at 11-18 year olds (though adults can still thoroughly enjoy it too!)

We loved seeing all the excitement on the opening day, with teams being thrilled that they were the first to experience the new activity in their town, and we can’t wait to see how many more people will come through the door and enjoy it!
