We have recently begun to offer boxes of cupcakes for escape room party bookings and we thought it would be great to introduce you to their baker, Lisa Finch. Lisa runs Lavender Blue, a Cheltenham small business, selling home baked goods, treats and hand crafted creations.

I became inspired to set up my own small business, reliving my childhood dreams and recreating treats that I can now share with family, friends and my customers.
My love of baking and confectionary goes back a long way! I can remember being caught once in the larder filling up a cup with hundreds and thousands and spilling them everywhere; it’s funny what we remember!
I grew up in a little village in South Devon called Shaldon and there I spent many hours of my childhood outdoors enjoying the simple things in life. It goes without saying, I didn’t have all the modern technology that our children have today. It was up to me to make my own entertainment and to use my imagination, of which I had plenty!
My Mum was always baking and I have many lovely memories of tea times and birthday parties. I was also very lucky that I had total freedom in my Auntie’s kitchen as a child where I had access to an abundance of baking ingredients and could bake until my heart was content!
In the village of Shaldon itself, there was a bakery and on one side of the shop the window was full of confectionary! I would look longingly in awe at the display and hope that whoever I was with would buy some of the fudge or coconut ice; little wonder I now have a penchant for such delights!
My Dad would always say ‘It’s all in the presentation Lisa’ and how right I think that is. Sometimes just the smallest things can look so pretty when presented nicely and I keep that at the heart of everything I make and do.
I make a range of different things to include cakes, biscuits, desserts and confectionary, all of which are seasonally inspired! I also make little gift packages to fit individual budgets. I can help meal plan for dinner parties, help prepare for birthday parties or simply bring the delights of home baking to your table!
As a busy working Mum, I greatly value my customers and as I always say, ‘no order too small’! I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have supported my business from the outset and welcome to my new customers!
