Escape Rooms Cheltenham and Eat Sleep Axe are trading names of Laburinthos Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales. Registered number: 13110494. Registered office: 52 Winchcombe Street, Cheltenham, GL52 2ND, UK.

These terms and conditions relate to all activities arranged, managed and hosted by Laburinthos Ltd, ie Escape Rooms Cheltenham escape rooms or Eat Sleep Axe urban axe throwing regardless of where the activities are held, promoted or sold. These terms and conditions relate to booking your activity, and any activities before or after your booking.

1. YOUR STATUS

By booking onto an activity, you confirm that:

  • You agree to follow all rules, regulations and professional verbal direction that may be given at any time to ensure your safety during the game/s.
  • You agree to wear all protective wear as directed and instructed by Laburinthos members of staff if it is needed during the game.
  • You are aware of the terms and conditions for your game including late arrivals, fitness and medical requirements, cancellation policy and violent or aggressive behaviour.
  • You agree to not sharing specific information about the escape room games.
2. ACTIVITIES

2.1 MINIMUM AGES

For all of our escape rooms, we recommend that all participants are at least 7 years old, as some of the puzzles may be too demanding for those younger. It is up to the parents /guardians to decide if their child will be capable, and anyone under the age of 16 should always be accompanied by an adult.

For axe throwing, all participants must by 10 or over. Younger children are welcome to spectate as part of a group, provided there is enough room (please enquire on booking). Anyone under the age of 16 should always be accompanied by an adult.

2.2 BOOKING ONTO AN Activity

Laburinthos Ltd is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information submitted by you during the booking process. All booking updates (including information, reminders and confirmations) are sent by email only. If you do not receive any emails or the email is corrupt in anyway (blank or otherwise), please contact us and we will endeavour to assist.

2.3 CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS AND NON ATTENDANCE

This section is relating to any cancellations or non-attendance for bookings made.

2.3.1 “CANCELLATION PERIOD” 

Customers can cancel a booking up to 7 days before their game to receive a full refund (minus 3% cancellation fee).

Cancellations made within 7 days of the booking date, will only be entitled to a half refund (minus 3% booking fee) , or will be offered a credit voucher for the full amount. Credit vouchers cannot be refunded for cash.

Cancellations made on the day of booking will not be entitled to a refund. You may be offered credit, but this is not always the case. Please contact as soon as possible if you are unable to make your booking.

2.3.2 REFUNDS & RESCHEDULING

Refunds are only available to customers who fall within the “cancellation period”. If you would like to reschedule, please try and give us at least 24 hours notice before your booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.

2.3.2.1 CANCELLATION BY US

If an activity is cancelled by us or our team, we will contact those affected and endeavour to achieve a satisfactory resolution, e.g. change date of reservation or refund. We will also endeavour to ensure that we contact everyone affected promptly however if your contact details are not correct, we are not liable for any lack of contact.

2.3.2.1.1 UNPAID BOOKINGS

If payment has not been received during the booking process or at least 24 hours prior to the session, Laburinthos Ltd reserves the right to cancel any booking or offer the time slot to another group.

2.3.3 NON ATTENDANCE

If you fail to show up for a booking you have made and have not given us prior notice then you shall not be entitled to any refund. You may be offered a reschedule for a fee of £25, if you contact us regarding your missed booking within 3 days.

2.4 WEATHER

If the weather is extreme (e.g snow, flooding) and we are forced to cancel, we will endeavour to contact all participants with as much notice as possible. We will then make arrangements directly to either reschedule or refund the booking.

3. DURING THE ACTIVITY

Our team members are dedicated to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants and staff.

3.1 LATE ARRIVALS

Laburinthos Ltd operate by tight timetables and late arrivals may result in your activity being cut short or cancelled. Participants must arrive by the time stated on their booking. Arriving late (i.e. arriving after your allotted time) may incur time reductions to your activity. If the late start is a fault on our part, your play time will not be affected. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, we reserve the right to cancel your slot without refund. If you know you are going to be late, please phone us to let us know as soon as you can.

3.2 NON PARTICIPATION DURING AN ACTIVITY

Participants leaving the activity during the session time will not be entitled to any refund. (Individual participants who cancel their booking in advance will be entitled to a full refund, provided the rest of the session still goes ahead (or the group falls within the cancellation period).

3.3 BEHAVIOUR AND CONDUCT

We do not tolerate drunken, abusive or aggressive behaviour, Alcohol or illegal drugs (the substance or paraphernalia) on site. We have the right to refuse entry to any customers we believe to be under the influence, and no refunds will be given. Escape room props and puzzles in particular can be delicate and do not require force, and we ask our customers to be aware and respectful of everything they use during their activity.

3.4 EQUIPMENT – PROTECTIVE WEAR

Our activities do not require any protective clothing and/or equipment, however if an instance occurs where it is needed, we will provide all appropriate protective wear. We do recommend that closed toe shoes are worn for axe throwing.

3.5 HOUSEKEEPING

Participants can leave their belongings in the lockers provided in each escape room reception or wear their clothes/keep mobiles/other valuable items on their person during the activity. Laburinthos Ltd is not responsible for any missing belongings.

3.6 FITNESS AND MEDICAL

You are required to let a member of the team know if you have a medical condition that we should be made aware of. In the event of an accident, a first aid box is available or contact can be made with the emergency services if it is necessary. If you feel uncomfortable during the activity (e.g.: asthma, claustrophobia), notify the team member immediately.

4. LOSS OR DAMAGE

Participants are liable for any loss or damage which you cause to our premises or venues, and agree to adhere to all housekeeping rules, procedures and policies (including policies as to behaviour and conduct) that may be in place at any venue. You may be asked to pay for any damages you cause, especially if you break any of the rules outlined in introductory briefing. Laburinthos Ltd are not liable for any loss or damage which may occur to either your property or person during your visit.

5. PAYMENT AND COSTS

5.1 BOOKINGS

The price of any of our activities will be as quoted on our websites/booking system and marketing materials, except in cases of obvious error. If the activity is advertised on third party sites at a different price, the responsibility falls to them. Prices are liable to change at any time, but the changes will not affect bookings for which you have already received a Booking Confirmation email, except in cases of obvious error. Payment should be made via Credit or Debit card on the payment page after a booking has been made.

Bookings that are made for larger, private parties can be paid through invoice, but must be paid at least 48 hours before the event. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of data which you send us by email. Accordingly, please do not send us payment information using email. Unless we are fraudulent or negligent, we will not be liable to you for any losses caused as a result of unauthorised access to the personal and transaction information that you provide us when making a booking. Your booking is not secure until payment has been processed.

5.2 GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers can be purchased to add partial or full payment to a booking. You can book online using the code printed onto the voucher. This will deduct the value of the voucher and any remaining value will be saved/can be paid for. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for any monetary value (non-refundable) and are only valid until the date printed on the voucher. Laburinthos Ltd cannot guarantee the availability of desired slots, and advise you to book as far in advance as possible.

6. PUBLICITY

We may use photographs taken at events in publicity and marketing materials, including use on our site. Your attendance at an event may mean that you are featured in such photographs and you are deemed not to object to the taking of such photographs as detailed above. If you do not wish to be included in any photograph, please notify the team member at the relevant event prior to the photographs being taken. Teams must grant permission for us to use their photographs online, but after this, Laburinthos Ltd reserves the right to use these for social media advertising or on our websites at any time.

7. ADDITIONAL AXE THROWING TERMS & CONDITIONS

It is the responsibility of the person making the axe throwing booking to ensure that everyone in their party (Parents/guardians may accept this responsibility on behalf of any participants under 16) understands the following: 

Anyone throwing axes with Eat Sleep Axe acknowledges that:

  • Throwing axes is hazardous, physically strenuous and there is an inherent risk of injury from these factors, from the equipment, and from other players, even though the activity is supervised.
  • Each participant is solely responsible for their own safety and wellbeing, and for any minors in their care.
  • They hold Laburinthos Ltd (t/a Eat Sleep Axe) harmless and indemnify them against any or all claims, action suits, procedures, cost expenses (including legal fees and expenses), damages and liabilities arising out of, connected with, or resulting from axe throwing.
8. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

We reserve the right to vary these terms and conditions. If any changes are made to our data protection policy, any customer who’s data we hold will be informed.
